If you lose your public health insurance coverage due to the termination of your employment, you are required to purchase individual health insurance (commercial insurance) from a commercial insurance company. A foreigner staying in the Slovak Republic is always required to have health insurance or medical expense insurance valid in the Slovak Republic.
