The mission of student organizations of the University of Žilina is to connect students with common interests and to develop their skills in the given field, to provide their services to other students, to represent UNIZA in various competitions and events and to promote its reputation.

University Club of Fire-fighting Sport UNIZA based at the Faculty of Security Engineering UNIZA participates in the organization of competitions and other leisure activities in the field of fire-fighting sport. It brings together enthusiasts of fire-fighting sport at UNIZA and provides trainings and material and technical equipment related to the mission of the organization.

UNIZA esports is a student esports organization based at the University of Žilina. The main goal of the organization is to represent the university in esports, organization of offline and online events, improvement of the e-sports environment and community at the university and providing background for players who study at UNIZA.

The folklore ensemble named Stavbár was established in 1959 and has been operating under the University of Žilina since 1997. Since its establishment, the ensemble has been dedicated to preserving and presenting the rich folklore heritage of Slovakia. The ensemble's choreography and music are deeply rooted in folk culture and are carefully created to capture the authenticity. The ensemble has performed more than 2000 times both domestically and internationally, in countries across Europe, Asia, Africa, and South America. Additionally, it has received several significant awards and recognitions at folklore competitions and festivals..
