About the Centre (of excellence)
Centre of excellence is the research and development organization which is involved in international scientific and technological cooperation with added value for the European Research Area.
The results of research and development of the Centre of Excellence are intended for economic and social practice in the Slovak Republic and they are reflected into education of new researchers.
There are 8 centres of excellence at UNIZA, as well as 4 competence centres, 3 centres of APVV (SRDA) – SUSP Support of cooperation of universities and the Slovak Academy of Sciences with the business environment, the University Science Park and the Research Centre of the University of Žilina.
