The quality of higher education is the indicator of the level and success of the university. The quality of higher education at UNIZA is governed by internal quality assurance system of education (IQAS) which was created in accordance with the requirements of the amendment (Act No. 455/2012 Coll.) Act No. 131/2002 Coll. on Higher Education and On the Change and Supplement to Some Acts (Higher Education Act), respecting the areas defined by ESG (Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area). IQAS arises from the long-term aim of UNIZA for the years 2014 – 2020. The results and experience of using quality management systems (ISO 9001, CAF model) at UNIZA and faculties and outputs from UNIZA quality projects (IBAR, DEQUA) were used for its formation. The system was introduced in 2013 at UNIZA and a year later it was implemented at all its faculties and parts.
The basic document of UNIZA in terms of quality is the UNIZA Quality Policy which was formulated and approved by the management of the University. The Quality Policy has been developed into quality objectives. These are focused on the most important areas of university activity and all areas set by legislative requirements. Measurable quality indicators were created in connection with quality objectives. Their values are determined by means of surveys in internal and external environment of the University.
IQAS applies to the field of education and the area of science and research connected with education. It also takes into account the uniqueness of the academic environment and contributes to the quality of set management processes.
